A stay at Black Hills Surgical Hospital is more like an overnight stay in a luxury hotel. We believe your recovery is best served by being attentive to your every need for comfort and relaxation. That’s why it is our philosophy to care for you as our guest - not just as a patient. By the end of your stay, if your expectations about a hospital are turned upside down, then we’ve accomplished our job!
Our Hospitality Staff is on-hand to assist and provide you (and your friends and family) with various amenities at no extra charge. In your private suite you can view a movie from our extensive DVD library, relax with aromatherapy, browse the Internet on one of our laptops, OR if you prefer, we can even arrange for a relaxing massage or facial. Whatever the need, our Hospitality Staff is here to serve you!

Suites are replenished with fresh flowers daily.
Complimentary Bath Products and Toiletries
Each suite is stocked with toothpaste, Aveda shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion.
Aromatherapy
In an effort to increase your relaxation, you will find an aromatherapy machine and a variety of essential oils at your bedside.
Luxurious Robes & Slippers
For your convenience, a plush full-length robe and slippers have been placed in each suite.
Heated Towels
Each suite is outfitted with a private bathroom with heated towel racks.
Made-to-order Gourmet Meals
The reputation of "hospital food" is legendary, but at Black Hills Surgical Hospital that’s just another traditional hospital model we’ve thrown out. Instead, we employ a trained chef and experienced cooks who use fresh, local, organic ingredients as much as possible. While we have a broad selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner choices, our more popular entrees include:

- 777 Ranch Shepherd's Pie
- Specialty Sandwiches
- House-made Soups
- Beef Tenderloin w/ Mushroom Demi-glace
- Seared Sockeye Salmon w/ Fresh Berry Salsa
Flat Screen TV
Each suite is equipped with a 17” flat screen TV with 85 channels.
DVD Library
While you are welcome to bring your own DVDs, we have an extensive DVD collection on-site. If we do not have something you are looking for, let us know and we’ll make a run to the local video store for you!
Wireless Laptop and Internet Access
Each room is equipped with a laptop and high-speed Internet so you can link to your job, send and receive e-mails, connect with friends or just browse the Internet for entertainment. We can also provide additional services such as fax services and typing assistance upon request.
Newspapers and Magazines
Rooms are stocked with various magazines and newspapers including The Rapid City Journal, The Wall Street Journal and USA Today. If you are looking for a specific publication, just ask a member of the Hospitality Staff, as they are more than happy to retrieve it.
Murphy Bed
Unlike a traditional hospital that may view a visitor or family member as an intrusion, we understand your friends and family are crucial to your emotional support and overall recovery. Therefore, our private suites have a pull-down Murphy bed so guests may invite a friend or family member to stay with them.
